Community outreachIf you couldn't attend the recent State of Our Schools meeting there's still time to provide feedback on some of the ideas being developed to ensure our school buildings meet the needs of our students now and in the future. Take time to give input after watching the presentation and completing the survey. The survey closes Monday, May 27. To learn about the work that has been done so far on the district's 10-year facilities master plan go to the project website.  It will be updated as work continues through the summer. Questions? Send them to us.

Parents are encouraged to register incoming kindergartners as soon as possible. Download a registration packet or pick one up at the school you're zoned to attend. Return the packet to the school along with a copy of your child's official birth certificate, current immunization records and proof of address.  All D91's elementary schools will hold kindergarten orientations the Week of May 6. Check with your school for more details.

Our new behavior motto for this school year is P.R.I.D.E. We are recognizing our students that are showing: Positive Attitude, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and those Being an Example. Your students are able to earn PRIDE tickets by displaying these characteristics. There will be drawings at the end of each month for a variety of rewards.

We also will be having monthly award assemblies for all grades called SWAG Awards. SWAG stands for Students Working to Achieve Greatness. We will be acknowledging students for amazing moments here at school. The counselor or principal will be reaching to invite you to these assemblies if your child is nominated.

This year you can pay for school lunch online with no convenience fees and your payment will be posted to your student's account immediately.   Go to the efunds page, click on fund lunch, set up an account or make a one-time payment as a guest using your last name and telephone number to locate your students.

A culture that empowers, instruction that engages and technology that enables.

The district has three focus areas: Literacy, Numeracy and College and Career Readiness.

Our goal is for students to gain mastery in the traditional core subjects of English, Math, Science and Social Studies. We also want them to learn the 21st Century skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, which will enable them to become lifelong learners and good citizens.
